Tell us about yourself (don’t you hate that question?!):
I started my own business so I wouldn’t have to answer that question in any more interviews! Okay, seriously, I have been in the marketing and agency arena for over 20 years and just love it. Starting vitalink in 1996 was a challenge, but I believed my focus on the client and providing a partnership environment was the right way to go. While there have been some tough times in the industry, I’ve never regretted the move. Outside of work, I’m an avid supporter of the American Saddlebred Horse and love to compete and enjoy home improvement projects, which combine artistry and hard work. I also serve on several Boards, including the North Carolina State University’s College Relations Advisory Board and am a member of the Ad Club (AAF-RDU). Most recent volunteer work has been Art for Haiti.

What three adjectives would others use to describe you?
Mmm…They’d probably say, “high energy,” “creative,” and “focused.”

Which part of your job do you enjoy the most?
I’d have to say developing and sharing ideas. This happens on a daily basis with our team members and clients. Brainstorming sessions just energize me! I also love sharing knowledge through mentoring and public speaking. I’ve been fortunate to speak at numerous conventions and events across the country about branding, marketing, media buying and PR. I am always open to new speaking opportunities.

What do you think is the most exciting change you’ve seen in the industry over the past few years?
The internet has made such a big impact to how businesses market themselves and communicate with clients and prospects. The industry and technologies change almost daily. These options provide such an opportunity for our clients. We love to watch clients as they begin to understand how they can use these new channels to grow and promote their businesses.

Last but not least, tell us about your educational background and experience:
I have a Bachelor’s degree in journalism with minors in graphic design and business administration from the University of Florida. I started my career at a small advertising agency in Gainesville, Florida where I learned the advertising industry, from media buying, to account service, to production. Prior to starting vitalink, I worked in Raleigh and Charleston, WV for FOX, NBC and UPN in sales, marketing, research, and ad concepting.

Education:  University of Florida - Go Gators!

Other interests:  I am very close with my family and enjoy  traveling with them as well. I am "mom" to Mica (cat), Piper (Momma horse), and Izzy (new American Saddlebred Filly born April 20,marketing speaker author Jeanne Frazer riding a Saddlebred 2010, Jeanne Frazer's new pictured to the left). I enjoy riding, showing (pictured to the right showing My Mountain Heirs), and raising American Saddlebred horses.

workshop + speaking reference

"Most Eastern North Carolina towns lack the fiscal capacity and human resources to develop the sophisticated materials they need to brand, market and promote themselves. Your work with the five CCI towns has provided a significant boost to such efforts and the results have expanded the ways in which town stakeholders develop their strategies and enhanced the means by which they implement their plans.

Vitalink's thorough research, and your development of impressive, professional materials, created a clear path along which each town might develop plans to leverage its unique assets and amenities to promote itself effectively to target markets. Our towns particularly appreciated seeing how a series of simple marketing elements - in combination - can build a powerful brand image. And the various templates and examples allow the toolkit to be used by a wide number of town organizations and individuals.

Thank you so much for a job well done."

~ Laura Williamson, Project Manager Creative Communities Initiative (Inner Banks Towns)

"Thank you so much for delivering such a wonderful presentation! I really appreciated your explanation of the campaign goals and the rationale for your approach, the population targeted, and the regions selected. I think we all learned a lot from your group and apprecitate the time and effort."

~ Dorothy Frager, Public Health Educator, Kansas Department of Health and Environment
